Mint, particularly peppermint, may affect hormone levels, which is sometimes used to treat hirsutism, but there is no evidence of its effect on the effectiveness of hormonal contraception.

Ginger is also not known to weaken the effects of birth control pills.

The most effective method of treating hirsutism will be birth control pills. They help by regulating hormone levels, particularly by lowering levels of androgens (male hormones such as testosterone), which are the main cause of excessive hair growth in women.
