Escitil and Bupropion and serotonin syndrome
Good morning. I take bupropion 150 mg on the recommendation of a psychiatrist due to depressive and anxiety disorders. Trazodone was recommended to alleviate insomnia (half of the lowest available dose), but I reacted very badly to it (significant depressed mood, drowsiness despite taking the drug more than 8 hours before getting out of bed) and in consultation with a psychiatrist I stopped taking the drug after a few days of use.
For insomnia and anxiety disorders, the psychiatrist prescribed Escitil 10 mg, taken for the first week as 1/2 tablet at night. Yesterday I took the first portion. After taking the drug, I felt nauseous, but I could fall asleep. In the morning I observed enlarged pupils and generally uneven pupils (one is slightly larger than the other, but both react correctly to light; it lasts all day), slight tremors, trembling of the body (mainly hands), increased pressure. In the morning, I also took the standard bupropion. Other than that, I feel good, I don't feel any discomfort.
Could it be typical side effects or could it be serotonin syndrome? In general, the psychiatrist prescribing Escitil mentioned that the effect of the drug would be observed after a long time and despite the side effects, I should continue it.
I have a follow-up appointment in two weeks and I don't know whether to stop taking it and consult a doctor after using it once, or to continue taking it anyway.
