Hi. I have Implanon Nxt installed. I don't use St. John's wort, but I read an article about other herbs that can affect the effectiveness of contraception.
Chaste tree, Red clover, Chinese angelica, Black cohosh, Liquorice, Anise, fennel. Please tell me if the use of products containing these herbs (except for St. John's wort) can affect the performance of the Implanon Nxt contraceptive implant? Do these herbs only work on estrogen pills? I don't quite understand.
For example, food (e.g. spices), drinks (e.g. alcohol), medicines (e.g. cough lozenges). Can cosmetics (creams) affect the contraceptive effect of Implanon Nxt if they contain these ingredients in small amounts (I found licorice extract in one of my creams)?
Do I have to stop using cosmetics, food/drinks with these herbs if I have Implanon NXT? Can they affect its effectiveness?
Is it safe to use cough drops and syrups if they contain licorice? Can they reduce the contraceptive effectiveness of Implanon NXT?
Can the consumption of flaxseed and linseed oil, soy and soy products also affect the contraceptive effect of Implanon NXT? I read that they also contain estrogens.
Of course, I don't mean St. John's wort.
