Starting Qlaira on day 12 of the cycle does not provide contraceptive protection from the 1st tablet. Therefore, in order to ensure contraceptive protection, an additional contraceptive method should be used until the end of the first pack. Qlaira is properly started on day 1 of the menstrual cycle.
