Hi. I have Implanon NXT inserted for contraception.
Can I take pain pills?
Ibuprofen, Paracetamol, Ketanov (ketorolac (as trometamol)), ketoprofen.
Can I take ACC (acetylcysteine) tablets?
Can I use Diclofenac gel?
Can I take Omega 3, Collagen, Vitamin D?
Do these medicines affect the contraceptive effect of Implanon NXT?

e Implanon NXT is an effective and reliable contraceptive. Its effect is not significantly affected by most commonly used painkillers, such as ibuprofen, paracetamol, ketoprofen or ketorolac.
ACC (acetylcysteine) tablets should also not have a significant effect on the effect of Implanon NXT. Diclofenac gel, which is applied topically, should also not affect contraceptive efficacy.
Similarly, dietary supplements such as Omega 3, collagen and vitamin D do not affect the effect of Implanon NXT.
