Is it normal for a slight brown discharge to be spotted when taking the tablets (days 18 and 20) (1 month of taking the pills) or is it a cause for concern?

Yes. This is normal. Spotting during the first three months of using hormonal contraception is completely normal. The body gets used to receiving hormones from the outside, so spotting may occur, and withdrawal bleeding may be minor or non-existent. There is no need to worry. If the situation does not improve and you still have spotting after 3 months of using the drug - it is advisable to consult a gynecologist.
