How long can bleeding occur after insertion of the Kyleena IUD?

Increased spotting and irregular bleeding may occur in the first few weeks of using the Kyleena IUD. If the problem persists or worsens also in the next week, a follow-up with a gynaecologist is indicated (assessment of the placement of the system in the genital tract). Usually, the symptoms disappear spontaneously, and in the following months, patients observe little and thinning bleeding or no bleeding.
