Zafrilla, as a hormonal contraceptive, is not designed to prevent varicose veins. In fact, hormonal contraceptives can in some cases increase the risk of vascular problems, such as blood clots, which can contribute to the formation of varicose veins.
Hormones in contraceptives such as estrogen and progesterone can affect the walls of blood vessels and increase the risk of blood clots. Women using hormonal contraceptives may be at higher risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), which may indirectly increase the risk of varicose veins. People with a family history of varicose veins, standing for long periods of time, obese, or sedentary may be more likely to develop varicose veins, regardless of the use of contraceptives.
