What should I do if I think the effect of Prokit and Mesopral is too weak?

Hello, a month ago I quit smoking, after which I got a sharp cough with a transparent discharge with brown yellow particles, x-ray came out ok, for this terribly intensified my reflux and I feel irritated in the throat I got drugs prociter 4x a day mesopral 40 mg 2x a day and milk after a meal I take it 3 weeks and zero improvement I am not overweight diet as recommended age 33 years
