Despite the fact that both Lantus preparations contain the same insulin (glargine), they are not their substitutes. The same number of insulin units is contained in a different volume of solution. Due to the higher concentration, the injection volume of insulin glargine 300 U/ml is 2/3 smaller compared to glargine 100j/ml. As a result, the action profile of insulin is slightly different and this needs to be taken into account in determining its dosage. Currently, I do not see the availability of insulin Lantus Solostar 300j / ml, but only Toujeo Solostar 300j / ml (it is also insulin glargine). To change your current insulin to another insulin, you need a prescription from a doctor and supervision over the dosage. If you change insulin, you also need to check your blood glucose more frequently in the first 1-2 weeks. I encourage you to contact your doctor if for any reason you may need to change your insulin.
