Hello headache doctor prescribed me dulsevia, I took 30mg, now I have 60mg, I have a follow-up visit only 23.12. The problem is that I have strong spotting from the vagina for some 2weeks resembling a period. I was at the gynecologist and from this point of view everything is ok. I read that this is a side effect of taking dulsevia. I don't know what to do next. Thank you for the advice I would like to add that of course I have other side effects such as dry mouth, lockjaw, chills, cold feet, excessive sweating, sleep problems.

Bleeding, bruising, longer than previously lasting spotting during the use of Dulsevia are possible, because they result from the mechanism of action of this drug. The duloxetine in Dulsevia reduces the uptake of serotonin by platelets, which impairs their function in blood clotting. This symptom is particularly visible in patients who have already had a problem with "weak", often ruptured capillaries and in those who use certain groups of drugs, e.g. popular NSAIDs (acetylsalicylic acid, ibuprofen, ketoprofen, diclofenac, etc.) or anticoagulants. In order to reduce the severity of the problem, you can use vascular sealants such as diosmin (preparations with diosmin available in pharmacies can be found in this link: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/substancje/diosmina) or even rutin included in the popular Rutinoscorbin or Cerutin. In the case of the latter two drugs, however, I draw attention to the need to take higher doses, i.e. 6 - 8 tablets / day in divided doses. Due to the high dose of vitamin C that is taken in this situation, I advise against such a solution for people with a tendency to form kidney stones. At the same time, I would like to point out that if so many side effects are observed, this may be the basis for reducing the dose of the drug or changing it, but this decision should be made by the attending physician. I emphasize that the drug Dulsevia belongs to such a group of preparations that must not be discontinued suddenly, overnight. For this reason, I suggest faster contact with a doctor, even only by phone.
