Blood should not be donated throughout the period of use of medicines (other than vitamins, oral contraceptives and hormonal drugs used during menopause) and for some time after stopping taking them. Always ask your donor doctor how long you need to wait after stopping the medicine, as the medicines have different periods of action. It is the doctor at the blood donation point who finally decides whether a given person will qualify for blood donation.
