Ozempic comes in 3 different doses. There are 3 pens available, which differ in the possibility of setting a specific dose. With the help of the Ozempic pen 0.5 mg, only the dose of 0.5 mg can be set. Why did the doctor prescribe 0.5 mg and recommend 0.25 mg despite the fact that it is not possible to set such a dose if we follow the manufacturer's recommendations? Due to the high price of the drug, they observe such solutions in practice. When using your pen (0.5 mg) it is possible to set the dose of 0.25 mg, but this is not a practice resulting from the official documents of the manufacturer of the drug (I did not find this information in the Polish version of the package leaflet or in the Summary of Product Characteristics). Please contact your doctor to instruct you on how to measure the prescribed dose. According to unofficial sources, patients count the number of "clicks" / "dots" in the pen window and then set half (0.25 mg with 0.5 mg) of this number of "dots". However, as I have already mentioned - this is not an official recommendation, but a practice that works among patients and I am not able to indicate whether the manufacturer also recommends such solutions. Therefore, I recommend that you contact your doctor to show you on the pen how exactly you should dose the drug. I will remind you by the way that after each administration of the drug you should change the needle in the pen. Needles can be ordered online using wherepolek, e.g.: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/48855/igly-do-penow-bd-micro-fine-plus-igla/apteki#internetowe I leave a link to the text that may interest you: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/blog/nowe-leki-na-otylosc-i-cukrzyce-jak-nie-dac-sie-oszukac

To @Jumpy:
Ozempic (semaglutide) is approved for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and its effects on weight loss are mainly due to side effects such as nausea, slowed gastrointestinal peristalsis, and vomiting. Currently, there is a lack of long-term studies on the safety of using this drug for the sole purpose of weight reduction.
I consider that there are not enough studies for weight loss with this drug. If there is weight loss, it is thanks to its side effects (nausea, relanticism of the peristaltismus of the digestive tract - with undigested food that remains in the stomach for a long time and vomiting). I think that much more serious side effects are not yet published. Once upon a time, there was Mediator too... and the disasters came in time.
I have ozempic from 1, can I use a needle for two administrations of 0.50? And how can I do it?
What does it look like at 2.4. If I wanted to take 1.7 doses, I click more than 50 times. Will this dosage be the same as the original 1.7? Or is there simply a higher concentration of this substance in 2.4? And is there the same amount of ml in the pen 2.4? Is it about the concentration of the substance?
Hello I have the following question, I have ozempic 0 5mg. At home, however, only 0.25mg should be injected, is that I can set 0.25 mg
How to administer 0.25 mg from a pen with Ozempicy0.5 mg? Thank you in advance for the information
