I have a contraceptive implant implanon NXT, I have been losing weight now and I have lost a lot of weight also from my hands, arms, I am afraid that because of this I have less body fat and I sunbathe a lot in the sun every day for several hours, and I also lubricate my skin a lot with various lotions with fruit extracts, and I also perfume my arms and I am afraid that it may somehow affect the effectiveness of the implant, because this implant will now be through this weight loss closer to the surface of the skin

Sunburn does not directly affect the performance of the contraceptive implant. The implant works by releasing the hormone etonogestrel, which regulates the menstrual cycle and prevents ovulation, and its effectiveness is not dependent on the condition of the skin.

If the burn is severe and causes significant discomfort or infection at the implant site, it is worth consulting a doctor.

I posted a response from the manufacturer, because we have such information. In my opinion, the implant is intended for use in normal conditions of everyday life, so there is no need to analyze every environmental factor. It is located inside the body and in my opinion, a simple daytime walk in the sun will not affect its operation. Regardless, the skin should be protected from the sun's rays for health reasons.

So it is not known whether it affects? I did not sunbathe on purpose but during the walk the sun burned my arms and hands red.
