The father in the hospital after cardiac surgery had symptoms of delirium syndrome with impaired orientation, periods of verbal and mobile aggression. During their stay in the hospital, Rispolept and Haloperidol were included. I have no knowledge whether, despite the recommendations (discharge), he used these drugs. After a month, he made a will. Do these drugs affect his conscious or free decision-making and expression of will? At what illnesses are they used?

Rispolept is a drug whose active substance is risperidone, showing antipsychotic activity by inhibiting dopaminergic and serotonergic receptors. The preparation is used in the treatment of schizophrenia and manic episodes occurring in the course of bipolar disorder. In addition, it can be used in short-term therapy of persistent aggression in patients with dementia in Alzheimer's disease and in children with intellectual disabilities. Haloperidol, on the other hand, is used to treat schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and behavioral disorders. The active substance is haloperidol with antipsychotic action, which reduces the severity of hallucinations and delusions by blocking dopaminergic signals. These drugs should not affect informed decision-making.
