What to do if the edges of the contraceptive patch are peeled off?
Good morning, I am starting to use Evra patches, did the patch so glued fulfill its function? I am concerned that after removing it, it turned out that the part was not glued and collected "leftovers" from clothes.

In the Summary of Product Characteristics we read that when gluing the patch, make sure that the edges of the patch are firmly glued. In a situation where the patch loosely adheres to the skin or its edges have peeled off, you can be 100% sure that a sufficient amount of hormones has been released into the blood to ensure the proper functioning of the patch. In such a situation, it is safest to use an additional mechanical method of contraception (e.g. a condom) for 7 days after applying a new patch. It is recommended to check the position of the patch daily. It is worth remembering that on the areas of the skin on which the contraceptive patch is applied, makeup, creams, oils, powders or any other cosmetic agents or topical drugs should not be applied to prevent their impact on the adhesive properties of the patch.
