What is the difference between Vaxigrip Tetra and Influvac Tetra?

Both Influvac Tetra and Vaxigrip Tetra are "quadrivalent" inactivated preparations, providing protection against four strains of influenza virus. They are given by injection. Both Vaxigrip Tetra and Influvac Tetra are a seasonal product – a new vaccine is produced every year, different from the year before.

Influvac Tetra is prepared in such a way that the final product contains two purified influenza virus antigens, hemagglutinin (HA) and neuraminidase (NA) (this is a "subunit" vaccine). Influvac Tetra is indicated for adults and children from 3 years of age.

Vaxigrip Tetra, on the other hand, contains a split virion of the influenza virus (this is a "split" vaccine). Vaxigrip Tetra can be given to adults and children from 6 months of age.
