It is not recommended to combine venlafaxine with alcohol. Such a combination may increase side effects, especially drowsiness, dizziness, as well as negatively affect mood and the effectiveness of treatment.
Venlafaxine and alcohol affect the central nervous system, and their concomitant use may increase the depressant effect, increase the risk of psychiatric disorders and reduce the effectiveness of the drug. Drinking alcohol can lead to dizziness, drowsiness, concentration problems, and increase the risk of side effects and deterioration of mental health.
It is recommended that you avoid alcohol during venlafaxine therapy, and if you consume small amounts, it is advisable to inform your doctor, who may adjust the dosage or recommend additional precautions. In any case, alcohol consumption during treatment with this drug is not indicated. The best solution is to abstain from alcohol altogether to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the therapy.
