Swelling of the extremities, including the legs, may occur with Elestar (olmesartan and amlodipine) as a side effect of therapy. Swelling may go away after stopping the medicine, but in some patients symptoms such as swelling may persist or worsen, especially if the medicine has been used to control hypertension or heart failure.
If oedema appears or persists after discontinuation of Elestar, it is necessary to consult a doctor to rule out other causes and adjust the treatment. Do not change the dose on your own or stop taking the drug without consulting your doctor.
