If I normally use Adaring and I only have the option to insert NuvaRing, can I insert it and the protection will be preserved? Do I need to use additional protection? I also saw that you have to keep it in the fridge and I would probably have to take it with me from 11 am to go out, and I normally put it in at 4 pm, so should I put it in earlier then or can I take it warm outside?

Yes, Adaring and NuvaRing contain the same active ingredients and work in the same way, so they can be used interchangeably – if used correctly, contraceptive protection is maintained.
If you swap the disc continuously (i.e. you immediately insert the NuvaRing after removing the Adaring), you do not need to use additional protection, because the continuity of the hormones is maintained.
After dispensing from the pharmacy, NuvaRing can be stored for up to 4 months at room temperature (up to 25°C, short-term up to 30°C), away from sunlight and high temperatures – it does not need to be in the refrigerator all the time. So you can take NuvaRing with you when you go out and put it on at the usual time, if it is not exposed to high temperatures above 30°C – this will not affect the effectiveness of contraception.
