Good afternoon! The medication Nedal was prescribed. I took 1/2 tablet. But I found out about pregnancy. The period is 5-6 weeks. The family doctor advised to gradually stop taking the medicine, taking 1/4 tablet for 3 days, and then stop taking the medicine.

Nedal (nebivolol) belongs to the group of beta-blockers and is not recommended for use during pregnancy because it may have harmful effects on the foetus.
It can reduce blood flow through the placenta, which is associated with the risk of fetal growth retardation, intrauterine death, miscarriage or preterm birth.
Therefore, its use during pregnancy is only acceptable if the benefits for the mother outweigh the risks for the baby, and such a decision is made by a doctor.
Gradually reducing the dose, as recommended by the family doctor, is the right procedure to avoid sudden discontinuation of the drug and possible adverse effects on the body. In the case of pregnancy, it is also worth monitoring the development of the fetus and blood flow through the placenta.
