Can an hour of delay in applying the Evra patch after a 7-day break affect the effectiveness of contraception?
12.99 zł

Hello. I took the last patch off the pack for a week-long break on Wednesday at 8 p.m. Then withdrawal bleeding began. A week later, on Wednesday, I overslept and stuck a new patch from the package only at 9 pm. Tell me, could an hour of delay affect the contraceptive effect? After all, it is written that the break should not be more than 7 days. Also on Thursday early in the morning there was sexual intercourse without finishing inside. Is it worth worrying?

An hour's delay in applying a new patch after the recommended 7-day break is unlikely to significantly affect the effectiveness of contraception. Since the new patch was applied on Wednesday at 9 p.m. and the previous one was removed a week earlier at 8 p.m., the difference of one hour should not be dangerous.

The risk of pregnancy after intercourse on Thursday morning is very low, especially since there has been no vaginal ejaculation.
