Is it possible that a general urinalysis did not detect bacteria and a urine culture shows their presence?

Male, 46 years old. Good morning
Could it be that in the general urine test there will be no bacteria detected (result - absent), but bacteria will come out on the culture? I'm waiting for the results of the culture, because I still have a burning sensation after urinating and I don't hide that I'm stressed, that if there are no bacteria, I don't have an "ordinary" infection, just something serious. In addition, I am after ineffective antibiotic therapy.

Yes, this is possible because the general urine test has less sensitivity and may not detect bacteria that will be captured in the culture, which is more accurate and serves to identify a specific microorganism.

Persistent burning sensation after urination, despite previous antibiotic therapy, indicates the need for further diagnostics and treatment adapted to the result of the culture. The absence of bacteria in the general examination does not rule out infection, but also does not necessarily mean a more serious illness – it may be a matter of an incorrectly selected antibiotic or other cause of the ailment, so it is worth waiting for the result of the culture and consulting a doctor to determine further treatment.
