Pylera is a drug composed of bismuth, metronidazole and tetracycline used in the eradication of Helicobacter pylori. The excretion time of individual components varies: metronidazole and tetracycline have a half-life of about 8-11 hours, which means that they are eliminated from the body within 1-2 days. Bismuth, on the other hand, has a much longer half-life, which can be up to 21 days, and its presence in the body can persist for several days to several weeks after the end of treatment.

In practice, most of the ingredients in Pylera are removed within a few days, but it can take longer to fully excrete, especially bismuth. Side effects of the drug may persist for up to 1-2 weeks after the end of therapy.
