Problems with straightening the knee after an injection of Diprophos into the joint can be a side effect of this drug. Diprophos, being a potent corticosteroid, can cause local reactions such as pain, swelling, reduced mobility and irritation at the injection site. Such symptoms may persist for several days after administration and are usually temporary.
If the symptoms persist for more than a week, intensify or are accompanied by other disturbing symptoms, you should consult a doctor, who may decide on further treatment, or recommend additional tests or supportive treatment. Usually, symptoms disappear gradually over a few days to two weeks, provided that proper care is given and overloading of the joint is avoided.
In the meantime, cold compresses and limiting activity that puts strain on the knee can help. If the pain worsens or fever appears, you should see a doctor immediately to rule out infection or other complications.
Please remember that side effects of medications should be reported to your doctor or individually. By reporting side effects, you help other patients, including your relatives, who may also need the same drug one day. This step also allows us to gather more information on the safety of medicinal products and update data on them. We wrote about how to do it here:
