The use of loperamide (Stopoperan) should not affect the effectiveness of Pylera therapy, but its use should always be consulted with a doctor, especially during the treatment of gastrointestinal infections. There is no evidence of a direct interaction between loperamide and Pylera that would affect the efficacy of Pylera therapy.
Loperamide, used to treat diarrhea, mainly acts on the intestines, slowing down their peristalsis and increasing water absorption, which reduces diarrhea. Pylera is used to treat Helicobacter pylori infection and has an antibacterial and protective effect on the lining of the stomach.
Please note that diarrhea may occur as a side effect when using Pylera, and loperamide may be used symptomatically to relieve them, as long as there is no suspicion of a severe intestinal infection or other serious contraindications. In case of infectious diarrhoea or when there is blood in the stool and fever, the use of loperamide is not recommended and a doctor should be consulted.
