Should I take extra protection if I have loose stool shortly after taking the contraceptive pill?
12.99 zł

Hello, could you advise me if I should take extra precautions.
Yesterday, after swallowing the pill, literally 5 minutes later, liquid stool appeared. It occurred once, but I'm worried that the pill may not have been absorbed. Does contraception work? Maybe it's better to protect yourself additionally. It occurred very quickly after ingestion

A few minutes after swallowing, the tablet is still in the stomach. There is no reason to worry about the lack of effectiveness of the drug.

And doesn't the fact that it happened so quickly have an impact? It seems to me that the pill couldn't even move so quickly, because I guess it's a process after all, but I don't know

I don't see the need to take another pill or use additional protection during intercourse. A single loose stool will not affect the absorption of the drug. The risk of contraceptive disorders may occur in the case of severe, long-term gastrointestinal problems (persistent, tiring diarrhoea/vomiting).
