A strong cough after taking Axtil, which contains ramipril (an ACE inhibitor), may be a side effect of this group of medicines. It is worth consulting a doctor, who may consider changing the drug to an angiotensin II receptor antagonist (e.g. losartan), which is less likely to cause coughing. Do not stop or change the medication on your own without consulting your doctor.
