I take Metoprolol 95mg. The cardiologist decided that I should stop taking it when I asked how to stop taking it, said that gradually. I read that one should not stop immediately. not to do this, so I started from today, half a tablet per morning for the next 10 days, then 10 days later in the evening also cut it in half. Then gone in the morning, gone 10 days later in the evening. So within 40 days so gradually. Is that a good way to do it?

Yes, metoprolol should be discontinued gradually.
According to the dossier, "If treatment is to be discontinued, if possible, the product should be discontinued gradually over a period of at least two weeks, halving the dose, until half the dose is half the lowest dose, i.e. 11.875 mg metoprolol succinate (equivalent to 12.5 mg metoprolol tartrate). This final dose should be used for at least four days before complete completion
Treatment. In case of adverse reactions, the dose should be reduced even more slowly. Abrupt discontinuation of beta-blockers may exacerbate heart failure and increase the risk of myocardial infarction and sudden death."
A detailed dosage schedule should be presented to you by your doctor.
