I've been using hormonal contraception and I've had slight spotting for a few days, should I be worried?

Hello, for a few days I have had spotting, which is not intense in light pink color. I take the pills regularly, this is my 5th package. Today I took the last active pill and I'm wondering what is the reason for it. I will add that I have had a lot of stress recently. Should I be afraid?

If you use contraceptive pills as prescribed, regularly, at a fixed time, there is no reason to worry about their effectiveness. Spotting is a normal symptom during the so-called adaptation period, during which the body gets used to the supply of hormones. The adaptation period can last up to six months, its length depends on the individual. Minor spotting should therefore not be alarming, but if it is accompanied by other disturbing symptoms or it intensifies over time and/or does not go away, it will be necessary to consult a doctor.
