Hello, what are the chances of pregnancy with oral contraception (combined pill) if for 7 days (from the 3rd day of taking the tablets from the new blister) I took an antibiotic (cephalosporin, more precisely cefuroxime), the intercourse was protected by a condom, but at the beginning I forgot to take the antibiotic and several seconds at the very beginning of one of the intercourses I was without a condom, later with a condom.

In the described situation, there was no risk of pregnancy, even though during one of the intercourse the condom was put on with a delay – nevertheless, there was no ejaculation of semen in the vagina. Therefore, pregnancy is not possible.
As a rule, cephalosporins can weaken the effectiveness of contraceptive pills, so additional protection should be used throughout the period of taking the antibiotic and for 7 days after the end of antibiotic therapy.
