Does Tamiflu reduce the contraceptive effectiveness of Implanon Nxt?
12.99 zł

I have the Implanon Nxt as a contraception.

Can I take Tamiflu (oseltamivir) 75 mg? Does it reduce the contraceptive effectiveness of Implanon Nxt?

I need to take Tamiflu (oseltamivir) 75 mg for 5 days.
2 capsules a day. Only 10 capsules.

Will the contraceptive properties of the Implanon Nxt implant be maintained, or will I need additional contraceptive protection?

Oseltamivir will not affect the effect of hormonal contraception. There is no need to use additional protection methods during the treatment.

Information contained in the summary of product characteristics:

"The pharmacokinetic properties of oseltamivir, such as low protein binding and CYP450 and glucuronidase-independent metabolism, suggest that clinically significant drug interactions mediated by these mechanisms are unlikely."
