Hi. I use the contraceptive Implanon NXT. Can periodic consumption of products containing a large amount of phytoestrogens (soybeans, soy sauce, linseed, linseed oil and others) affect the effectiveness of contraception? Can drinks (e.g. alcohol Aperol, Campari, Martini) containing anise and licorice also reduce the effectiveness of the implant if you drink a lot of them, e.g. a whole bottle in one evening?

Are cinchona fruits, as well as bitter oranges, which are included in the composition of Aperol, able to work in such a way that the effectiveness of contraceptive pills will be reduced?
And you can switch from two-component contraceptive pills, if there is a discontinuation from bleeding, you can immediately switch to a contraceptive implant? Will this affect the effectiveness of the contraceptive implant?

The consumption of products containing phytoestrogers, such as soy, soy sauce, flaxseed and linseed oil, has no proven effect on the effectiveness of the contraception of Implanon NXT, which is progestogen-based (etonogestrel) and does not contain estrogens. Drinks containing anise and licorice are also not known to affect the effectiveness of this implant.
In the case of heavy alcohol consumption, although it does not directly affect the effectiveness of Implanon NXT, it can affect overall health and contraceptive decisions.

I'll add something to the question. Can drinking large amounts of beer affect the contraceptive effect of Implanon NXT? After all, it contains a lot of hops, which also contain estrogens?
