Can I use Betamethasone ointment, antihistamines and antibiotic eye drops with the Implanon NXT contraceptive implant?
12.99 zł

Hi. I have an Implanon Nxt contraceptive implant.

1. Is Betamethasone ointment safe to use?
I also use Gentamicin ointment. Will their use affect the effectiveness of Implanon? After all, Gentamicin is an antibiotic? I'm a little worried

2. I often take antihistamines (Loratadine, Claritine, Cetirizine). Do they affect the effectiveness of contraception?

3.Can I use antibiotic eye drops? Do they affect the effectiveness of contraception?

1. Betamethasone ointment and gentamicin ointment are safe to use and do not affect the effectiveness of Implanon NXT. Gentamicin is an antibiotic, but when used in an ointment, it works topically, not systemically, so it does not pose a threat to the effectiveness of contraception.

2. Antihistamines (Loratadine, Claritine, Cetirizine) do not impair the effect of contraception. You can use them without fear.

3. Antibiotic eye drops do not affect the effectiveness of Implanon NXT because they act locally and do not interfere with hormone metabolism.
