Madopar (levodopa + benserazide) may interact with some of the medications you are taking.
Fluanxol (flupentixol) may reduce the healing effect of Madopar (levodopa). Fluanxol can also cause symptoms that resemble Parkinson's disease, such as tremors, stiffness, and slowness of movement, which is known as Parkinsonian syndrome. Concomitant use of these medicinal products should be avoided or, if this is not possible, the patient should be monitored for possible impairment of the therapeutic response.
The concomitant use of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) such as Bioxetin (fluoxetine) and Madopar (levodopa) may in rare cases result in worsening of Parkinson's disease symptoms, such as muscle stiffness and increased tone, tremors, difficulty in making fast and precise movements.
If your doctor has prescribed Madopar, he or she has likely taken these interactions into account, but it is worth monitoring for possible side effects and consulting again if necessary.
