Combining Coaxil (tianeptine) with Xanax (alprazolam) should be considered with caution.

Xanax is a benzodiazepine that has a central nervous system depressant effect, which can lead to an increased risk of side effects such as drowsiness or dizziness, especially when used with other drugs with similar effects. Coaxil, as an antidepressant, has a different mechanism of action and does not have as strong an effect on the GABA system as benzodiazepines. It is recommended to consult a doctor before starting concomitant therapy with these drugs to assess safety in the context of the patient's individual health condition.
