My period was 10 days late after taking the pill the day after (ellaOne). Can I take my first anti-ception pill on the 1st day of my late period?

I took the ellaone pill, my period was 10 days late, can I start taking the contraceptive pill immediately on the first day of my period or do I have to wait until the next day (I have not taken contraception before)

You can start using hormonal contraception on the first day of your current menstrual period, you don't have to wait until the next one. Please follow the recommendations of your doctor and the manufacturer regarding the use of selected contraceptive pills - you should take them regularly, at the same time of day.

After using ellaOne, menstrual bleeding may occur a few days earlier or later. According to the manufacturer's information, 7% of women had menstrual bleeding more than 7 days earlier than expected, about 18.5% of women had a delay in menstrual bleeding of more than 7 days, and 4% of women had a delay of more than 20 days.
