A stye came out on my upper eyelid. Olecs from the pharmacy do not help on an ad hoc basis... The only thing they helped was a little redness and swelling on the eyelid. I make warm compresses and gently massage the lump. The doctor prescribed me Bibrocatho ointment, I wonder if it is a good medicine for this type of case?

Bibrocathol POS is an ointment with a disinfectant, astringent and secretion-inhibiting effect. The preparation is used in chronic (long-term) inflammation of the eyelid edge, which is not caused by bacteria. A stye, on the other hand, is a papular abscess, which is a symptom of inflammation caused by the clogging of the sebaceous and sweat glands located at the edges of the eyelids. The cause of inflammation is a bacterial infection most often caused by Staphylococcus aureus. We wrote more here:

Perhaps the doctor assessed that your lesion is not bacterial and is not a typical stye. If you have any doubts about the recommendations obtained, I encourage you to consult your doctor again, e.g. in the form of a teleconsultation via the Gdziepolek.pl portal:

I have attached a link to check the availability of the ointment and make a reservation at the pharmacy of your choice:
