I'm taking Gabapentin 300mg for trigeminal neuritis but I'm not getting relief – what should I do?

I have a trigeminal nerve. The doctor prescribed gabapentin 300 at night.
I've been taking it for four days. There is no relief at all. What to do?

Gabapentin is used to treat neuropathic pain, including trigeminal neuralgia, however its effectiveness may vary from patient to patient.

Gabapentin usually begins to have an analgesic effect after a few days, but the full therapeutic effect may not appear until after 2–4 weeks of use. The dose is often increased gradually to achieve optimal efficacy with minimal side effects.

If you do not notice any improvement after a few weeks of using 300 mg, it is worth consulting a doctor. You may need to increase your dose or consider other treatment options, such as changing medication or adding another form of treatment, such as physiotherapy or surgical interventions in more severe cases.
