I don't know what antibiotic you have in mind. At the moment, rifamycins (rifampicin, rifabutin, rifaximin) have a proven effect on reducing the effectiveness of contraception. However, as the effect of other antibiotics on the effectiveness of contraception cannot be completely excluded, regardless of the antibiotic used, it is recommended to use additional, non-hormonal contraceptive methods (e.g. condoms) during antibiotic therapy and 7 days after its completion.
