I have been taking Belara birth control pills for 3 years. Recently, by mistake, instead of taking pills for 21 days, I took them for 28 days. After 28 days of taking the pills, I took a 7-day break. After a break, I started a new pack of pills. On the day of taking the 6th tablet from the new package, intercourse took place. Can this ratio be considered secured or should we use the emergency concept?

Belara tablets can be taken for more than 21 days in case you need to postpone withdrawal bleeding. The procedure is described in the summary of product characteristics:
"To delay menstruation, the patient should continue to take the tablets from the next Belara blister without a pause. The extended time of taking the tablets can be continued for as long as it is needed until the contents of the second pack are exhausted. During the prolonged time of taking the tablets, you may experience slight bleeding or mid-cycle spotting. Then, after a seven-day break, you can return to regular Belara treatment."
Contraceptive effectiveness is maintained. The tablets should continue to be taken according to the manufacturer's recommendations (break after 21 days).
