Betaxolol and Metoprolol are beta-blockers, but differ in their selectivity and pharmacological profile.

Betaxolol is more cardioselective (mainly acting on β1 receptors), which may reduce the risk of respiratory side effects. Metoprolol is also cardioselective, but to a lesser extent than Betaxolol. Both drugs are used to treat hypertension and heart disease, but the choice between them depends on the individual patient's needs and comorbidities.
