Good morning
She has been using NuvaRing hormonal contraception for several years.
On 29.12.24 I took out the disc for a 7-day break. On 1.01.25 there was intercourse ended with ejaculation. Should I use the morning-after pill?
If so, should I set up the next system on time, i.e. 5.01

To @Eureka:
The contraceptive ring can be inserted on the first day of menstruation, which is recommended to ensure full contraceptive protection right away. It can also be inserted between the 2nd and 5th day of the cycle, but in this case, it is recommended to use an additional method of contraception, such as condoms, for the first 7 days of using the ring. Therefore, inserting a ring on the 3rd day of menstruation is possible, but requires additional precautions.
Can you put on a contraceptive ring on the 3rd day of your baby? Do you have to on the first day?

If you used the previous ring correctly, it was continuously in the vagina for 3 weeks and it did not fall out during the cycle for a time that could interfere with contraceptive protection (more than 3 hours), then you are protected against pregnancy during a week's break in its use, provided that you insert the next ring on time. If you took out the system on December 29 (Sunday), you should have put on another disc on January 5 this year (also Sunday) at the same time. I don't see the need to reach for the pill the day after.
