Is ellaOne effective if taken during ovulation?
13.00 zł

Hello, on Monday there was a short "intercourse" where the penis was in the vagina but there was no ejaculation. On Thursday I took the EllaOne pill (5 days) I will add that on the day of intercourse the calendar indicated two days before ovulation, so on the day I took the pill I should have had an ovulation day. My question is, will the pill be effective in such a situation?

The ulipristal acetate in ellaOne blocks or delays ovulation. If you have already ovulated before taking the pill, ellaOne is not effective.

With intercourse without ejaculation in the vagina, the risk of pregnancy is lower than in the case of full intercourse - however, it should be remembered that a small amount of sperm may be in the pre-ejaculate (secretion before ejaculation). It doesn't always happen, but it is possible.

In the described case, the risk of pregnancy is small, but it cannot be completely ruled out. To rule out pregnancy, a pregnancy test should be performed, e.g.:
