Mounjaro may delay gastric emptying and alter the absorption rate of concomitant medicines (this effect of Mounjaro decreases over time). During clinical trials, it was not found that the above changes were clinically significant, therefore there is no need to modify the intake of contraceptive pills.

Additional information:

- diabetes and significant overweight may be a contraindication to the use of hormonal contraception (increased risk of thrombotic disease)

- oral contraceptives may affect peripheral insulin resistance and glucose tolerance
