Hello. Why do the side effects of the antibiotic pylera persist for Q1-2 weeks? As after discontinuation in the body there are 4 days.
Can I include nausea in the morning or weakness among these side effects? I finished the treatment 4 days ago.

Pylera contains three ingredients: bismuth, metronidazole and tetracycline, which have different times of elimination from the body. Bismuth tends to accumulate in the body, especially with prolonged use. It can remain in the body for days or even weeks. It usually takes about 1-2 days for metronidazole to be completely removed from the body, and 2-3 days for tetracycline to be completely removed.
Side effects after treatment with Pylera may persist for different periods of time depending on the body and the type of side effect.
Nausea, diarrhoea and abdominal pain usually disappear within a few days after treatment, but may last longer if the stomach or intestines are irritated. Tetracycline and bismuth can irritate the lining of the stomach and intestines, which can cause nausea and pain for up to several weeks after treatment (until it recovers).
Fatigue and headaches are often associated with metronidazole and usually persist for up to 1-2 days after the drug is cleared from the body. Sometimes the nervous system may take longer to return to balance.
If the side effects persist for more than a week or cause great discomfort, you can see a doctor.
