Hello!
I would like to know if it is normal that I got a rather scanty period with evra patches? I have been using the patches for quite a long time, but this is the first time I have such a situation. 11.10 I did a beta and it came out 0.981 I am sexually active but I use the patches as recommended and practice interrupted intercourse, and here my question is, can a scanty withdrawal period mean pregnancy? I'm very afraid of it.
Thank you in advance for your reply.

To @Ann:
There should be no withdrawal bleeding during pregnancy, as the mechanism that causes it is related to the menstrual cycle, and this cycle is stopped after fertilization. Withdrawal bleeding usually occurs due to a drop in hormone levels, leading to desquamation of the endometrium, but during pregnancy, hormones are kept high to support embryo development.
However, if there is any bleeding during pregnancy, even minor bleeding, it is worth consulting a doctor to rule out other possible causes and make sure that the pregnancy is going well.
Could I get a little bleeding from withdrawal if I was pregnant, or would such bleeding not appear at all?

Minor withdrawal bleeding with the use of birth control patches is quite common and does not necessarily mean pregnancy, especially with regular use.
A beta-hCG result of 0.981 mIU/mL indicates that you are not pregnant. Hormonal patches can sometimes cause a reduction in bleeding, especially after prolonged use.
If you have doubts about this situation, it is always worth consulting a doctor who can provide more personalized advice. If you are not able to make a face-to-face visit, I attach a link to the online teleconsultation:
