What cough medications are safe for my mom who has had strokes and is taking Acenocumarol and other medications?
9.99 zł

Good morning. My mother suffered 4 ischemic strokes within a year. He takes acenocumarol, bisocard, suvardio and zanacodar.
In recent days she has started coughing, especially at night, plus she has a runny nose (sinuses I think), no fever. The cough was rather wet. Can I ask for advice on what medications will be safe, especially for this cough?

In case of cough, especially wet, it is important to avoid medications that can affect blood clotting considering Acenocumarol. You can consider using mucolytic preparations, such as ambroxol, which help with expectoration, e.g.:

It is also worth consulting a doctor to assess the condition of the sinuses and decide on possible treatment, especially if the symptoms persist or worsen. It is important to monitor for possible interactions with other medicines.
