Mupirox ointment contains the antibiotic mupirocin and is intended for the topical treatment of bacterial skin infections. This drug can be used on lesions in the anal area.
Although the leaflet recommends that it should not be applied to mucous membranes, the prescribing physician may decide to apply Mupirox ointment to wounds in the anal area if deemed necessary. You should trust his decision. We wrote more about it here:

Before starting the IVF procedure, it is worth consulting your infertility doctor to make sure that the use of Mupirox ointment will not have a negative impact on the course or results of treatment. Your doctor may recommend that you stop taking the medication for some time before the procedure or recommend alternative treatments.
If you have any doubts about the use of Mupirox ointment before IVF, consult your treating doctor.
