Mupirox ointment contains the antibiotic mupirocin and is intended for the topical treatment of bacterial skin infections. This drug can be used on lesions in the anal area.
Although the leaflet recommends that it should not be applied to mucous membranes, the prescribing physician may decide to apply Mupirox ointment to wounds in the anal area if deemed necessary. You should trust his decision. We wrote more about it here:
