Good morning
My son took tiki 5mg at night for a week. He was as if stiffened after this drug after 2-3 days, he was wandering around the house, his eyes dimmed, the conversation slowed down but logical. He looked like he was a bit "stoned". I couldn't call the doctor and I reduced the dose to 0.25...it's a little better. The question is, is it normal that he behaved like this after 0.5 and I just panicked too fast? Maybe it was supposed to be this way and it would stabilize?

Your son's reaction to the antitic drug (Aripilek) is quite typical, especially at the beginning of therapy, but it requires attention and consultation with a doctor.
Aripiprazole 5 mg may cause side effects, especially at the beginning of therapy. The symptoms you describe - stiffening, psychomotor slowness, dim vision - are known side effects of this drug. These can occur especially in the first days or weeks of use and often resolve over time as the body gets used to the drug.
Reducing the dose was a sensible step in the absence of contact with a doctor. It should be remembered that the dosage of aripiprazole should be adjusted individually. Studies show that both small (5-10 mg/day) and higher doses (10-20 mg/day) can be effective in reducing tics, but the side effects can be more severe at higher doses.
In this situation, it is crucial to consult a specialist as soon as possible to discuss the observed side effects and determine the appropriate dosage. Side effects often subside over time, but individual dose adjustment is essential to achieve the optimal balance between efficacy and tolerability.
